Should I hire a wedding planner? : The million dollar question

So, here it is. You can’t believe you just lived one of the most beautiful days a woman could
ever experience and it was so much more than what you imagined when you were a little girl. He proposed… And most importantly you said yes! You start getting a rush of adrenaline because you have always wanted a fairy tail wedding and this is your time to see it in front of your eyes! But just when you’re feeling on cloud nine with joy, so many questions start filling your head: vendors, dresses, cake, music, venue, and the list goes on and on!  And this is when you start to wonder: am I capable of doing this all on my own and make my special day a magical and unforgettable one?

Here I share with you, five important details to consider when making such an important decision as to hiring or not  a wedding planner for the one special day you always dreamed of.

1.) Time Management

For modern day women and men, time management or availability is a very sensitive subject and trust me, when you are planning your wedding, you will need lots of it! A wedding planner can be a real lifesaver when it comes to managing time in the most efficient way, since they will keep track of the deadlines and let you know when things need to get done or paid for, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to plan or pay for something. They will take care of anything that might go wrong the last minute.

2.) Budget Issue

Money, money, money! Yes it does make the world go round, but also a bride’s head! For some of us, it could be sometimes hard sticking to a budget on certain occasions, and this is when the wedding planner can act as your financial advisor helpings with costs. They can give helpful recommendations about the best suppliers and what the costs for each service should be, not letting you overpay for something that you just shouldn’t.

3.) Vendor’s knowledge

A wedding planner knows about vendors; which are worthy, good to work with, and which ones aren’t. Rather than spending hours looking for yourself without having a clue, they will share with you their experiences and references so you can make an informed decision, instead of just following “the feeling” you might have.

4.) Defining what you want

For some of us, we could get so caught up in the moment, and we want so many things to happen that day, that we end up overwhelming ourselves with too many ideas. A wedding planner will help you define and make come true the vision that you have for your wedding day, show you your options and help you pick the style, color and mood you want for your special day.

5.) It’s your day and no one else’s

This is the day you’ve dreamed of all your life! You should not be worrying if you forget things, what might go wrong, if the napkins are folded the right way! Your wedding planner will be there to make sure everything is taken care of, according to plan and exactly how you want it to be.

So as you see, wedding planning is not always the most romantic and non-stressful thing you might experience. However, if the 5 details that we mentioned above do not represent a major hazard to you, the personal planning of your wedding could end up being one of the most beautiful and touching experiences!

Now tell us what you think! Wedding planner: an angel from above or no thanks?

Yours truly,
