Things to do the morning of your wedding

The way you start any day sets the tone on what’s going to be the rest of that day, or at least that’s what most people believe.  But this is not just any day… This is the day everyone’s been talking about and you have been dreaming about for so long! So don’t take any chances starting your wedding day on the wrong foot.

A few days before the wedding, when you still have a clear mind, prepare a schedule of the things you have to do, just to make sure you don’t forget anything.  Remember this could be a very emotional and stressful day, but success is the product of proper planning.  So get organized and make sure you don’t leave any important detail of the wedding to be done that day.  The only thing you should focus on is yourself.  Here’s a list of top things you definitely need to do.

Have a Healthy Breakfast:

Set aside a nice time to have a complete breakfast to ensure that you will feel ready and energized throughout the rest of the day.   You can add a few mimosas if your nerves require of them, but careful with the amount of alcohol you drink because you don’t want to be dehydrated later.  Water is essential to feel and look refreshed.

 Prepare the Bridal Bag:

Set aside your bridal bag with the essential items you will need during the event.  Don’t over do it, just keep lipstick, tissue paper for tears or sweat and some mints.  Everything else should be on the emergency kit that you should have prepared with days in advance already.  If you need information on how to prepare your emergency kit, check out my Blog post “A Bride Emergency Kit”.

Organize the items needed to get ready:

Display all the things that you will need during the “dressing” process.  You may even place everything in order of how you will be using them: deodorant, perfume, underwear, accessories, shoes dress, veil, etc.

Charge your phone:

Make sure you charge your phone and hand it to your Maid of Honor, coordinator or someone that can take care of it, just in case you receive a phone call related to the wedding and needs to be taken care of.  If you have a smartphone, save the numbers of your vendors in a list so anyone can contact them if needed.

If necessary, make any last minute decisions like weather calls before you put on your dress and take pictures.  Once you’re done, put it behind you and get in the mood to be the perfect bride you want to be.

Take a shower before doing Hair & Make up:

Indulge in a nice relaxing shower right before you start getting your hair and make up ready.

Now that you have started the day on the right track and are enjoying your wedding day the way you deserved, put on your dress and let the show begin. But first, remember to take a moment and be grateful for the beautiful day ahead.  Make a toast or say a few words to let your family and bridal party know how happy and fortunate you feel that they are a part of your day.  Thank them for helping you through the planning process or just because they agreed to be a part of the wedding.

Finally, let the party begin!

Till next time,
