Bride Over Heels

12 August 2012

Ask Bridal Savvy: Should I turn down being a bridesmaid if I can’t or don’t want to be anymore?

This is a very sensitive question, especially if you’re very close to the bride and it is very important for her to count with your participation on her special day. The important thing to remember when a bride asks you to be part of her bridesmaids, is that you will be paying for all the costs involved: we are talking about the dress and alterations, makeup, hair, and possible travel expenses. Once committed, it wouldn’t look good turning down your spot , unless your reason has to do with an illness, family emergency or work related unexpected demand. Remember that the bride is already going through a lot of stress and you wouldn’t want to see her become a bridezilla.  I think the real question here is, being such a life changing event in the life of the couple getting married, would you like to be part of it o not? Do you want to be part of those memories? Hope this answers your question!

Yours truly,

Bridal Savvy
